7 Down

Bethany over at The Land of Curly Hair recently had a fun blog asking people where they were in life seven years ago. I am stealing her idea! So, post in the comments where you were in life seven years ago. Interesting to see how things have changed in that time for everyone.

I will pick a random winner who will receive some specialized soaps in the scent of their choice (from the ones I have anyway). I will close this on Monday, June 27th at 5p.m. CST so get your comments in before then.

Seven years ago in June 2004, I was consulting with UH Downtown regarding credits I needed to earn to complete my Bachelor of Science. After consulting with their advisor, I enrolled at WCJC to complete 6 lower level credits I needed before starting the Fall semester at UH SugarLand. I remember how ecstatic I was knowing that I just needed those 2 lower level basics...I was still working at the Jester 4 Psychiatric facility...in 7 years, I have completed my bachelors's degree, earned a teacher certification, and have started my LSSP internship. This entire time I have been a single parent struggling to make ends meet...my favorite saying "God only helps those that help themselves!"

First of all, congrats on your graduation!
Seven years ago I was still a teacher and hoping to be engaged soon (which I was on August 20, 2004). In June I was preparing to be a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding (=

Oh man... 7 years ago, I was 21. Living in Arizona, going to school, and not exactly making the best life choices in the entire world. I really would like to think I'm in a much better place now! :)

COMMENTING FOR FREE SOAP!
LOL :D

7 years ago in the summer of 2004, my sister had just graduated from high school, I was getting ready for my senior year, and I had no idea that at that time the next year, I would be packing up my entire life to go spend the next 15 months in Thailand.

No worries, no thoughts, just fun times in the Texas sun :D

I was 2 months away from 30, had just signed a lease on a new apartment after finishing up my first year in Houston, and having no idea that in a month I'd be dumped by my boyfriend of 3 years in just a few weeks. Seven years, a great husband and a 2 year old later I say THANK GOODNESS!

This is a great idea!

Seven years ago, we were in between our 2L and 3L years. I spent the summer interning with the EPA Wetlands Regulatory Division in DC...and preparing to study for a semester in Halifax at Dalhousie with the UHLC exchange program. At that time, I was convinced I'd be an environmental attorney and save the world from big business and people in general.

Now I'm in living in Seoul, South Korea, working at the US Embassy as a Foreign Service Officer for the Department of State, married to a great guy, and loving life with our two Schnauzers. :-)

7 years ago, I was a mother to my two beautiful babies, and they were babies at the time, a wife of a deployed solider, and working a full time management job at a portrait studio. I remember life being so busy, but I guess not much has changed has it.

7 years ago, I was in my 2nd year of law school and blissfully unaware of how much my life was about to change. I didn't know it, but I was about to have some major life changes - some good, some bad. In a matter of months, I would rescue my wonderful furbaby Merlin, meet my husband, get sick and be diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and take a one year leave from law school. It's funny because I know, at the time, I thought my life was crazy and hectic, but I *knew* where I was headed. Turns out, I didn't have control over that and I ended up in a place I wouldn't trade for the world (despite the bumpy road here).

I was preparing for my wedding on June 28th! We were at the jewelry store deciding on a ring and getting a lecture from the counterguy (a good friend of mine) about what the heck was I doing! lol We got married anyways.

Too late for the contest, but still want to play. :)

I was out of work as was now-hubby. Major family drama, not speaking with others. All of those things are resolved now. Life is very, very good.
