BACKGROUND

To-Do: Zumba. Decluttering.

Life has been crazy lately. Well, actually it's always crazy, just in varying degrees. A friend of mine once told me that I always have something going on, that I have the longest to-do list she has ever seen. And she's right! I always have something I need to be doing, thinking about, etc. Well, perhaps need is a strong word, but lists are my lifeline. This is especially true as I get older and writing things down becomes essential, otherwise they will go out of my head and I will remember them at some inopportune time like the middle of the night when I will be too tired to do anything about them. Then, in the morning, I will have a vague notion of something I should be remembering, but I won't remember it and on and on it will go. 

Anyway, the main thing on my to-do list right now is doing a big clean-out of my stuff. I just own way too much stuff and it's really time to get a grip on it and get it organized. It's ridiculous to have this much stuff, especially when a lot of it is stashed in another room and it barely sees the light of day. Clearly, it's not useful and I do not need it. I am looking forward to the day when I have everything I need within reach. There are some non-useful items I will keep because they have value regardless of their immediate ability to be used. These are things like high school yearbooks and the like. But, in general, there should be very few sentimental items. I am really aiming to have a life where my stuff is useful and not extraneous.

So, getting organized is on the list for the coming week. I plan to do a little decluttering each day beginning tomorrow. Another item on the list for the week is trying Zumba for the first time. My gym has a class on July 4th. I am not doing anything major for the holiday so I am going to try this class. I've been wanting to do it for awhile and I have friends who love it so I look forward to giving it a whirl.
